Seven That Spells

🇭🇷

2011 – 2019

Psychedelic Rock · Space Rock · Krautrock

Seven That Spells were founded in 2003 in Zagreb, Croatia, with Niko Potočnjak as the constant creative core. What began as a psych trio evolved over the years into an international collective with changing lineups, gaining a serious cult status in both Japan and Europe. The band collaborated with the likes of Makoto Kawabata of Acid Mothers Temple and toured Japan multiple times. A connection that has left distinct traces in the band's sound.

On Sulatron Records Seven That Spells released their most ambitious work between 2011 and 2018, namely the three-part trilogy The Death And Resurrection Of Krautrock, consisting of AUM (2011), IO (2014), and OMEGA (2018), which is partly still available. Eight years of work, three albums, three completely different lineups and a common thread of psychedelic energy, epic song structures and a sound that retells Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and Can in a language entirely its own. On April 12, 2019, they played all three parts back-to-back at the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg. What a historic moment for the european psych scene. Niko Potočnjak is also the guitarist for Otrovna Kristina, who also released on Sulatron Records.

Music for everyone who knows that Krautrock never died and now sees that it's quite alive in Zagreb.
