Between 1990 and 1997, under the pseudonym Quad, Sun Dial frontman Gary Ramon explored a completely different, more introspective side of his musical creativity than with his main project. Meditative and miles away from the fuzz-laden psych rock Sun Dial is known for. Originally released in an extremely limited edition in 1997 on Acme/Lion Productions, the album has long been one of the hardest-to-find treasures in the psychedelic scene.

Across just three tracks, including the side-long "Revisitation Mantra," Quad unfolds a hypnotic soundscape carried by sitar and guitar over driving, almost funky grooves. Those familiar with Ramon's work with the Coil project will find similar, mind-altering tendencies here, but with significantly more drive.

With this vinyl reissue, Sulatron Records finally makes one of the most brilliant albums from Gary Ramon's extensive oeuvre accessible again. A must-have for anyone who wants to delve deeper into his psychedelic sound world.
