Quad

Who would have guessed Sun Dial mastermind Gary Ramon exploring a completely different, more introspective side as Quad than under his main project? Meditative and miles away from the fuzz-heavy psych rock for which Sun Dial are known. Originally released in 1997 in an extremely limited edition on Acme/Lion Productions, the album was long considered one of the hardest-to-find treasures of the psych scene.

Across just three tracks, including the side-filling Revisitation Mantra Quad unfolds a hypnotic sonic cosmos carried by sitar and guitar over driving, almost funky grooves. Those familiar with Ramon's work with the project Coil will recognize similar mind-altering tendencies here, only with significantly more drive.

With this vinyl reissue, Sulatron Records finally makes one of the most dazzling albums from Gary Ramon's extensive oeuvre accessible again. A must for anyone wanting to delve deeper into his psychedelic sound world.

LP on 180 gram transparent orange vinyl with a glossy cover, made in Germany and limited to 500 copies!
