Craig Williamson from Hamilton, New Zealand, has been a fixture in the international psych scene for years. As the mastermind behind Lamp Of The Universe, as a member of Arc Of Ascent, and as the former bassist and singer of Datura. After years of friendly connection with Sula Bassana, he released his first Lamp Of The Universe album on Sulatron Records in 2018.
The album's title, Align In The Fourth Dimension, refers to an alignment beyond the ordinary, uniting ethereal folk aesthetics, expansive space vibes, and 60s acid blues across seven (eight with the bonus track on CD) tracks. Craig plays all instruments himself: guitars, bass, drums, organ, synthesizer, mellotron, and sitar. "Visitors" opens quietly and reverently, "Rite Of The Spheres" and "Light Receiver" deepen the meditative flow, before "The Leaving" and the extended "Absolution Through Your Third Eye" form the spiritual core of the album. "Call From Beyond" is the exclusive CD bonus track, quietly rounding off the journey before the concluding "Seasons Of Love" lets the album fade out in a warm light.
