Zone Six

It started as an improvised solution when Sula Bassana received a concert request for his band Liquid Visions in 1997 that he could no longer fulfill, he promptly formed a new band for just this one appearance called Zone Six. With Hans-Peter Ringholz on guitar and Claus Bühler on drums the trio improvised for a single night in the practice space of their friends' band The Butlers with everything recorded live on an 8-track tape machine.

In 1998 the material was released officially for the first time by Early Birds Records, later recorded vocals, Mellotron and keyboards were added. This 2017 reissue for the band's 20th anniversary, brings back the original, purely instrumental version for the first time. Two extended, trance-like space rock improvisations, raw, real and completely without any later overdubs.

Those who know today's Zone Six from countless live albums and festival appearances will hear the original here, the very first sign of life from a band that has since become one of europe's most important krautrock jam projects.
