The Night

In 2009, Sula Bassana released The Night, an album that many still consider his strongest solo work: a solitary studio project where he played all the instruments himself: guitars, basses, synthesizers, mellotron, organ, drums, and more.
Right from the start, the opener "In Space" sets the tone with a dramatic intro and powerful beat for a journey through dense, cosmic soundscapes. The album reaches its climax with the over fifteen-minute title track "The Night," divided into four parts, including a guest appearance by Stefan Koglek (Colour Haze) on vocals and lyrics. "Meteorritt" and the expansive "Kosmokrator" round off the journey with driving riffs and soaring guitar lines.
The Night combines old-school spacerock with Sula Bassana's unmistakable sonic signature, a timeless album that has long become a classic in his own catalog.
