The Night

With The Night Sula Bassana released an album in 2009 that many still consider his strongest solo work. A solitary studio project for which he played all the instruments himself. Guitars, basses, synthesizers, mellotron, organ, drums and more.

The opener In Space immediately sets the tone for a journey through dense, cosmic soundscapes with its dramatic intro and powerful beat. The album reaches its climax with the over fifteen-minute title track The Night which is divided into four parts and includes a guest appearance by Stefan Koglek (Colour Haze) on vocals and lyrics. Meteorritt and the extended Kosmokrator round off the journey with driving riffs and floating guitar lines.

The Night combines old-school space rock with Sula Bassana's unmistakable sonic signature. A timeless album that has long since become a classic in his own catalog.
