The Bunker Session

For almost 25 years, these recordings lay dormant before Sulatron Records released them in 2017: The Bunker Sessions is a previously unreleased studio session by the British cult space rock band Strobe, recorded completely live without overdubs in the Bunker Studios in Bedford, presumably in 1994, for a fourth album that was never completed.
In the early nineties, Strobe was considered one of the best British space rock bands ever, but due to the changing musical tastes of the time, away from guitars and towards samplers and dance beats, they remained an insider tip in the underground. This is precisely what makes The Bunker Sessions so special: songs like the pounding Chameleon Earth with its killer riff or the female-vocal-laden, narcotizingly seductive Opium Dreams show the band as immediate and powerful as on none of their official studio albums. The album concludes with the collapsing, almost noise-like Sun Death.
Despite its age, The Bunker Sessions sounds astonishingly timeless. A long-lost treasure that finally receives the attention it deserves.
