Motionless I-VI

Landing, from Connecticut, USA, have been one of Sula Bassana's longtime favorite bands, and Motionless I-VI is the first vinyl release by these pioneers of ambient Lo-Fi psychedelics on Sulatron Records. The album compiles excerpts from their second Bandcamp subscription album from 2022, recompiled, remixed, and given new cover art by Sula Bassana specifically for the LP.

Two sides, each just under twenty minutes: Motionless I-III on side A begins with delicate, reverb-processed guitars and pulsating rhythms that slowly transform into motoric Krautrock grooves. Motionless IV-VI on side B takes a pastoral path – an electric guitar sneaks in after six and a half minutes and glides through sun-drenched expanses before a long drone ending lets the album fade into silence.

Recorded at home by Aaron Snow and Daron Gardner with all the organic sounds that come with it: effect pedal footswitches, room sound, intimacy. The sound this band has been making for 25 years and about twenty albums would certainly have been called Krautrock if Landing were from Germany.
