Landing was founded in 1997 by Aaron Snow (guitar, synthesizer, bass, vocals) and his wife Adrienne Snow (synthesizer, vocals), who met at Brigham Young University and moved to Connecticut. There, Daron Gardner (bass, drums) and guitarist Dick Baldwin joined them and a loose circle of friends evolved into a band that has since moved through over twenty albums and a Krautrock influence spanning forty years.

Their sound is hard to pin down. Ambient, shoegaze, drone, lo-fi Krautrock, dream pop. Landing move through it all without ever really landing anywhere. Guitars whisper, rhythms pulse and synthesizers create spaces in which one can lose oneself. Pitchfork described the floating, hypnotic feeling of their music as "the ascension of the best drone music." From Windy & Carl to Stars Of The Lid, Landing share the stage with the best in the scene.

Motionless I-VI was released in 2023 as the first Landing vinyl release on Sulatron Records. Curated excerpts from Aaron and Daron's 2022 Bandcamp subscription series, newly compiled and provided with new cover art by Dave Schmidt for the LP format. Dave has called Landing one of his favorite bands for years.
