Moonseeds

In 2018, the Australian psych-rock band Seedy Jeezus toured Europe. After the tour, guitarist Lex Waterreus spent a few days with Komet Lulu and Sula Bassana (both then still with Electric Moon) and they did the most obvious thing: just record music together. Three extended jams were created, and Sula Bassana mixed and edited them. Then several years passed.

In 2023, Lex visited Sula Bassana again after another Seedy Jeezus tour, and together they added some sparse overdubs and completed the album. The result is three cosmic pieces, together lasting over 45 minutes: "earth" opens with over 21 minutes as a slow, percussive build-up, where the fuzz bass lays the foundation and Lex's guitar slowly defines the mood. "sun" is more agile and edgier, "moon" concludes the album with a quiet, atmospheric fade-out.
