Mind's Eye

The Dutch multi-instrumentalist Leonardo, aka Astral Son, released the final part of his trilogy, consisting of Gurumaya, Silver Moon, and Mind's Eye, in September 2016. It was released as a CD by Sulatron Records, with the vinyl edition following in December of the same year from Headspin Records.

Over eight tracks, a kaleidoscopic mix of space and Krautrock, psychedelia, and electronic sound textures unfolds. The over nine-minute opener, "Time For Change," sets the direction before the album develops further through the bouncy "Brainstorm," the calmer "See Your Self," and the dreamy "Dream." With the title track "Mind's Eye," also over nine minutes long, the album reaches its cosmic peak before the short, almost meditative "The Observer" and the concluding "This Trip" gently fade out the journey.

Those who liked Silver Moon will immediately find what they're looking for here. Many consider Mind's Eye to be a logical and even stronger continuation, forming the crowning conclusion to Astral Son's early creative period.
