Mind Control - The Ultimate Edition

All good things come in threes: Sun Dial's Mind Control was originally released in 2012, re-released in 2015 with two bonus tracks, and now returns as The Ultimate Edition on two CDs, with a complete second disc of previously unreleased material from the same sessions. Over one hundred minutes of Gary Ramon, spread across two discs.

Disc 1 contains the original album plus two bonus tracks: Mountain Of Fire & Miracles opens like a heavy Pink Floyd relative of Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, before In Every Dream Home A Heartache, Mind Control, and Seven Pointed Star drive the album through psychedelically electronic terrain. Disc 2 brings previously unreleased songs and alternative versions from the same period of creation, produced with the involvement of Hugo Chavez-Smith, who also produced the debut Other Way Out. Gary Ramon played all instruments himself: guitars, mellotron, Mini-Moog, Hammond organ, drums, and vocals. Scorpio contributed bass and Moog Taurus pedals, Joolie Wood violin, melodica, and flutes.

Mind Control is considered by many to be the rebirth of Sun Dial, and The Ultimate Edition is the definitive document of this rebirth.
