Sulatron Records is delighted to release the tenth album from the legendary English band Sun Dial!

Sun Dial is the band led by guitarist and singer Gary Ramon, who first released recordings in the 1980s under the name The Modern Art. After finding a stable live lineup in 1990, he renamed the band Sun Dial.

The new album Messages From The Mothership deals with a UFO sighting Gary Ramon had at the age of fourteen, particularly on the B-side of the LP. Musically, the album moves between early Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and Hawkwind, and at times is reminiscent of Sun Dial's debut album Other Way Out, which is considered a milestone by many fans.

The last studio album Science Fiction, released in 2018 by Sulatron Records on CD and LP, was significantly more electronic, strongly oriented towards Krautrock sounds, and even completely instrumental. With Messages From The Mothership, the band now returns to the sound for which they have been appreciated for decades: guitar-dominated psychedelic rock with slightly distorted and modulated vocals. Hammond and Vox organs, Mellotron, and synthesizers add additional accents without pushing the characteristic guitar sound into the background. In contrast to Science Fiction or Gary Ramon's side project Quad, which is entirely dedicated to cosmic-electronic sound research, the rock band is once again at the forefront here.

The A-side of the LP gathers compact songs, each of which has the potential to be a standalone 7" single. The B-side, on the other hand, features longer, psychedelic-progressive compositions. It is here that a colorful, kaleidoscopic sound world opens up, which is sure to delight not only long-time Sun Dial fans but also win over many new listeners to the band.
