Love Monster

After eleven years without a new studio album, Zone Six returned in 2015 with Love Monster, proving that the longest active improvisation crew from our circle has lost none of its power. Founded in 1997 by Sula Bassana together with his Liquid Visions comrades, the band is considered one of the pioneers of Neo-Krautrock.

With Sula Bassana on drums, Komet Lulu on bass, Rainer Neeff on guitar, and Modulfix on synths, this lineup brings together four musicians from the Electric Moon, Krautzone, and The Pancakes circles. Across four extended jams, they create a more earthy, rockier sound than what is usually heard from this scene: warm fuzz, driving Krautrock grooves, and psychedelic synthesizer textures that oscillate between Ash Ra Tempel pulses and Grateful Dead-like outbursts.

Love Monster is a sign of life that many have long awaited and that has audibly paid off.
