Between 2015 and 2018, Rainer Neeff, Komet Lulu, and Sula Bassana gradually recorded the material for the second Zone Six studio album after Love Monster in Dave's Amöbenklangraum in Schlierbach. The result is Kozmik Koon, an album full of trance-like expansiveness, emotional depth, and psychedelic energy.

The name is a nod to two sources: Kozmik Ken from England, the founder of Kozfest, and the raccoons that inhabit the area around the studio. The album is also dedicated to their friend and companion Richard van Ess, who passed away far too soon. Five tracks, 44 minutes: The ambient-meditative Maschinenseele (12:52) opens calmly with mellotron and guitar, before Kozmik Koon (10:58) flips the switch with an irresistible bass riff and driving beat. Raum and Still provide short breathing spaces, before Song For Richie (13:52), introduced by a Timothy Leary sample, concludes the album with an emotional, even cathartic final phase.

Mastered by Eroc, with a cover painting by Ulla Papel (Komet Lulu's father): Kozmik Koon is flawlessly crafted and content-wise one of the strongest Zone Six albums in years.
