Dark Days

Many consider Dark Days (2012) to be Sula Bassana's strongest solo album, which is saying something given his extensive body of work. After the original CD pressing and both vinyl editions had been out of print for years, the album is now finally available again on CD.
Six tracks, 71 minutes, not a single dull moment: Underground opens with a nine-minute sequence featuring guest vocals from David Henriksson (The Movements). The over twenty-minute Surrealistic Journey is one of the most expansive and hypnotic voyages in Dave's entire discography, with Pablo Carneval on drums propelling the track like a spaceship into the depths of space. The title track Dark Days and the almost equally long Arriving Nowhere round off the album with the same intensity.
Mastered by Eroc, cover by Komet Lulu: Dark Days is flawlessly crafted and possesses a depth of content that reveals new layers even after the tenth listen. A must-have for anyone who truly wants to understand the Sula Bassana cosmos.
