The Doomsday Machine

The Doomsday Machine is still considered by many fans to be Electric Moon's darkest and doomiest album. Originally released in 2011 by Nasoni Records, Sulatron Records is bringing the band's third studio album back into the catalog as a CD reissue in 2016.

For the first time, Komet Lulu also takes on the lyrics and vocals. Written by her, they are embedded in dense, fuzz-drenched walls of sound made of guitar, bass and synthesizers. The opener, Doomsday Machine, sets a menacing, almost ritualistic tone with Alex on drums, before Pablo Carneval takes over on Kleiner Knaller, Spaceman, Stardust Service, and Feigenmonolog, driving the album into ever new, dark sonic spaces.

The CD is accompanied by impressive charcoal drawings by artist Ulla Papel (Ulrich Mahn), which were intended as a visual counterpart to the music. The Doomsday Machine remains one of the most intense and consistent albums in the Electric Moon oeuvre.
