The Bunker Session

These recordings lay dormant for almost 25 years before Sulatron Records released them in 2017: The Bunker Sessions is a previously unreleased studio session by the cult British space rock band Strobe, recorded completely live without overdubs at Bunker Studios in Bedford, presumably in 1994, for a never-completed fourth album.

In the early nineties, Strobe was considered one of the best British space rock bands ever, but due to the shift in musical tastes away from guitars towards samplers and dance beats, they remained an insider tip in the underground. That's precisely what makes The Bunker Sessions so special: songs like the stomping Chameleon Earth with its killer riff or the female-vocal-laden, narcotizingly enchanting Opium Dreams show the band as immediate and powerful as on none of their official studio albums. The album concludes with the collapsing, almost noise-like Sun Death.

Despite its age, The Bunker Sessions sounds astonishingly timeless. A long-lost treasure that finally receives the attention it deserves.
