The Bunker Sessions

For almost 25 years these recordings slumbered in obscurity before Sulatron Records released them in 2017. The Bunker Sessions is a previously unreleased studio session by the cult British space rock band Strobe, recorded entirely live without overdubs at Bunker Studios in Bedford, presumably in 1994, for a fourth album that was never completed.

In the early 90s, Strobe were considered one of the best British space rock bands of all but due to the shift in musical tastes at the time away from guitars and towards samplers and dance beats, they remained an underground insider tip. This is exactly what makes The Bunker Sessions so special. Songs like the stomping Chameleon Earth with its killer riff or the female voiced and narcotically alluring Opium Dreams show the band as immediate and powerful as on none of their official studio albums. The record concludes with the self-collapsing, almost noise like Sun Death.

Despite its age The Bunker Sessions sounds astonishingly timeless. A long-lost treasure that finally receives the attention it deserves here.
