The second album Silver Moon by the Dutch multi-instrumentalist Leonardo alias Astral Son was released in 2016 as a CD on Sulatron Records, even with a the bonus track Quiet Love.
Across nine tracks that flow into one another, Silver Moon unfolds as a true concept album. From the driving opener Waking Dream, through the Tangerine Dream-esque intermezzo In, to the hypnotic Slight Return, the songs merge into a continuous, almost theatrical whole. In doing so, Astral Son draws from the rich repertoire of 60s psychedelia. Gong, Ash Ra Tempel and early Pink Floyd send their regards, combined with warm, almost folk-like acoustic elements.
Silver Moon is a colorful, almost painterly soundscape. This is no coincidence as Leonardo is also active as a visual artist alongside his musical work. A psychedelic stage play for the ears.
