Silver Moon

The second album Silver Moon by Dutch multi-instrumentalist Leonardo, also known as Astral Son, was also released on CD in 2016 by Sulatron Records, supplemented by the bonus track Quiet Love.

Across nine flowing tracks, Silver Moon unfolds as a veritable concept album: From the driving opener Waking Dream, through the Tangerine Dream-esque intermezzo In, to the hypnotic Slight Return, the songs meld into a continuous, almost theatrical whole. Astral Son draws from the rich treasure trove of 60s psychedelia. Gong, Ash Ra Tempel, and early Pink Floyd are evoked, combined with warm, almost folky acoustic elements.

Silver Moon is a colorful, almost picturesque soundscape. This is no coincidence, as Leonardo is also active as a visual artist in addition to his musical work. A psychedelic stage play for the ears.
