Space Rock · Psychedelic Rock · Stoner Rock
Yuri Gagarin were formed in Gothenburg at the beginning of 2012, named after the first human in space and with the clear goal of engaging in sonic space travel. After only a few months together, Christian "Crille" Lindberg (lead guitar), Jon Eriksson (rhythm guitar), Leif Göransson (bass), Robin Klockerman (synthesizer, FX) and Stefan "Steffo" Johansson (drums) recorded their first tracks, uploaded them to Soundcloud and were immediately named Band of the Week.
Their instrumental sound combines two guitars with cosmic synthesizer layers and a powerful groove that often tends towards doomy heaviness. This is space rock that both floats and pushes at the same time. After the first pressing of their debut album on a local Gothenburg label sold out quickly, Sulatron Records took care of the album with a newly remixed vinyl release. Limited to 500 copies and remixed by Linus Andersson.
Music for anyone who prefers cosmic space rock a little heavier.
