Space Rock · Krautrock · Psychedelic Rock
UFO Över Lappland are, in their own words, "musicians and artists living in the north of Sweden, a space/rock/punk/freak/whatever collective/band". The quartet from Umeå consists of Krister Mörtsell (guitar), Christer Blomquist (bass), Peter Basun (synthesizer) and Andreas Rejdvik (drums). Four musicians who developed their long jams and motorik rhythm sessions under northern lights, white snow and whistling blizzards.
Starting as purely digital cassette releases on the labels Do You Dream Of Noise? and Fluere Tapes. Both editions sold out immediately and the debut album only reached a wider audience upon its release on Sulatron Records in 2018. Five completely instrumental tracks between six and twelve minutes long, recorded at A&O Recording Studio and Parasit Studio and mastered by Björn Engelmann. The twelve-minute opener Keep On Keepin' On Space Truckin' immediately sets the standard. The Ptolemaic Terrascope simply called it one of the best debut albums of the genre.
Music for long winter nights, vast horizons and anyone who likes instrumental, hypnotic and Nordic space rock.
