Krautrock · Progressive Rock · Space Rock
Human Teorema is a quartet from Paris, founded in 2012 by Alan Charron (guitar), Tim Girerd-Hengstenberg (bass), Xabi Irigoin (drums) and Mathieu Leroy (keyboards, synthesizer). Since their formation they have released several EPs, played countless concerts in Paris, and were long-term residents at Mains d'Oeuvres, one of the most important venues for avant-garde music in the French capital. They even have a TV appearance on the Canal+ show Petit Journal on their resume. Not a bad start for a band that never loudly promoted itself.
Their music evolves around what the band themselves describe as cosmic music. Centered on a massive bass-drum combination that oscillates between dreamy, contemplative progressive rock and wild, turbulent krautrock. A journey to nowhere, an intoxicating feeling of infinite inner space, an improvised exploration of the depths of psychedelic ambient music. This is how they describe what they do themselves.
Le Premier Soleil de Jan Calet (2024) is their first vinyl album and also their debut on Sulatron Records, produced by Dimitri Dedonder at Mégaphone Studios in Aubervilliers, mastered by Clément Agapitos and featuring a cover painting by Bruno Schmeltz. The concept album follows the journeys and visions of Jan Calet, a professor of ancient civilizations in Rome in the early nineties, who traverses the ages to emerge renewed in the end.
Music for anyone who likes their psych-rock conceptual, improvised and with a good story behind it.
