Astral Son

Psychedelic Rock · Space Rock · Krautrock

Astral Son is the psychedelic solo project of Leonardo Soundweaver, a musician, painter, and multi-instrumentalist from Groningen, Netherlands. Leonardo began his musical career in electronic music, producing over twenty albums under his own name and only later discovered the electric guitar as his primary instrument. With Astral Son, he finally found the name for that psychedelic side of his work, which draws inspiration from Gong, Ash Ra Tempel, Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and Brainticket.

Leonardo plays all the instruments himself, including electric guitar, bass, synthesizers, vintage organs, percussion and vocals. His albums are created as extended, dreamlike journeys through psychedelic soundscapes, in which Krautrock drive, cosmic electronica and melodic psych rock merge into one another. The four Astral Son albums Silver Moon (2016), Mind's Eye (2016), Wonderful Beyond (2018) and the bonus track CD for Silver Moon are among the most coherent and colorful releases on the label.

Music for colorful canvases and lovers of gentle, cosmic psych rock.
